Barn at Soergel Hollow Wedding

How else to begin this blog post other than by saying: I just loved this wedding! Sarah & Mike’s Barn at Soergel Hollow wedding kicked off the height of the fall wedding season, and it’s always so energizing to arrive on a wedding day and get that giddy “this is gonna be a good one” feeling right off the bat. The weather was perfect, especially considering the time of year when it should’ve been much cooler. The leaves had just begun to change colors and were falling so beautifully over the ceremony location. I couldn’t wait to get started!

We met up with Sarah and her bridesmaids in their designated cabin in the woods where they were getting ready for the day. Mike and his groomsmen were across the way in their own cozy cabin, relaxing and prepping for the wedding. As the pre-ceremony prep was all coming together, guests began to arrive via covered wagon and take their seats in the wooded ceremony area. The time of day couldn’t have been better to get the most gorgeous light streaming through the trees during the wedding ceremony and throughout portraits afterwards. As the sun set behind the trees, the reception got underway in the barn with toasts, dinner, dancing, and probably one of the coolest things I’ve seen incorporated into a wedding reception – a cigar & whiskey bar set up outside! Sarah & Mike were awesome to hang out with, they were a blast during portraits, and their bridal party was so much fun! Take a look below at some highlights from their day!
