Allison & Matt…what can I say? They’re my kind of people! From the first time we met, they emphasized how much their family & friends meant to them and were so excited to have everyone together on their wedding day. These two are so down-to-earth and perfect together, I knew I’d have a blast photographing their Heinz Chapel & DoubleTree Downtown Pittsburgh wedding!

We started the day capturing some getting ready photos at the DoubleTree Downtown, and right away I could tell this was gonna be such a fun group to spend the day with. There was so much laughter and genuine excitement in the room, and that vibe carried through the rest of the day. Allison & Matt met each other at Pitt, so they were especially excited for their ceremony at Heinz Chapel & taking photos at the Cathedral of Learning. Although Allison was hoping for snow on this February day, there were no flakes in the air, but who can complain about a sunny, precipitation-free day in Pittsburgh?! They’re hard to come by these days! Admittedly, however, it was quite cold…but the bridal party – particularly the ladies! – were such troopers hanging out in the freezing weather while we captured their portraits!

We made our way back to the DoubleTree where the new Mr. & Mrs. were greeted by their guests for a gorgeous reception downtown. The dance floor was packed the whole evening! And despite the freezing temperatures, the newlyweds stuck it out one last time for some night shots on the rooftop patio with the Pittsburgh skyline twinkling in the background. I love these two, and I’m so happy for the opportunity to photograph their day! It was the perfect wedding to kick off my 2019 season!
