Where do I even begin with this gorgeous Miami Beach portrait session? First of all, I’ve known Laura since we were 5 years old. She’s one of my oldest & closest friends, and she’s been living in Miami for the past three years (and NYC before that, & Michigan before that!) with her handsome husband, Michael. Needless to say, we haven’t gotten much face time over the past few years. So when she threw out the idea of me coming down to spend a few days with them in Miami & take some photos to commemorate their stay before moving back to Pittsburgh in July, of course I couldn’t pass that up!
We had an incredibly well-thought-out plan to wake up well before daybreak to drive to Crandon Park for a sunrise session at 6:30am. Much to our dismay, we were pretty disheartened when we arrived right on time, the sun is rising over the ocean on the horizon, gorgeous morning light was spilling onto the beach, and all the gates to the parking lot were locked until 8am… Best laid plans, right?
No biggie, this gave us some time to stop in a nearby Starbucks and wake up a bit before heading back to the park at 8.
We started the session on the beach, surrounded by white sands & palm trees, and later moved to the section of the park that is now an abandoned zoo, full of peacocks, iguanas, & a number of various birds. Although we didn’t get the sunrise session we had planned for, Laura & Michael absolutely killed it in these photos! Seriously, don’t they look like models?! Scroll through and see for yourselves, while I sit here back in Pittsburgh, where it’s still way too cold to be mid-May, and daydream about laying on the sunny beaches in Miami!
