I’ve known Shelly & her family since we were both kids, and we even ended up working together at Starbucks a few years back! So when she called me up and asked me to be her wedding photographer, of course I was so appreciative and excited for the opportunity to photograph her big day! During the wedding planning process, I had the chance to meet Daryl as well, and it was easy to see how happy they were together. We got all the details in place for their wedding at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott, including a backup plan for rain since unfortunately their wedding day was forecasted for a 90% chance…
Throughout the days leading up to the wedding, the night before, and even the morning of, it seemed dark skies and thunderstorms were imminent. But somehow throughout the day, hour by hour the rain never came. Not only that, but by the afternoon it was actually sunny! So after Shelly & Daryl’s ceremony at Holy Trinity Church, we stopped on our way back to the reception for some outdoor photos of the newlyweds & their bridal party. After pausing for a little dance break on the limo bus, we all headed back to the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott for the remainder of the evening.
Their wedding reception was decorated beautifully, complete with a traditional Pittsburgh cookie table AND a chocolate fountain! And we couldn’t wrap up the evening without stepping out into the courtyard for a nighttime photo. Take a peek below at some highlights from their day!
